Ptolus – Where to get? You see the legacy of Ptolus in every MCG product, with the page references in the side margins, and a real focus on not just the content, but the usability of the product itself.
These tales tell of ancient battles waged and cities erected on the site, of demons and dark lords, of forgotten kings and mighty wizards. In addition to “normal” technology, there is also chaositech, which is a mixture of fantasy settings’ magic items and cyberpunks’ cyberwares.
Although primarily a residential district, the Rivergate section of Ptolus still offers many interesting locales to visit. And Ptolus taught me the way RPG sourcebooks should be written.
Monte Cook has written hundreds of roleplaying game products, along with numerous short stories, novels, nonfiction titles, and comic books. I’m not a big fan of Arcana Unearthed and never heard of Arcana Evolved.
However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable.
